Harvest Colored Card

Since I am home this morning with one sick kid and another with a sprained foot I decided to make a card.

PB080009

I used the following challenges:

1. Card Patterns Sketch #40

As you can see I flipped it and made it more rectangular than square.

2. The Pink Elephant Color Challenge #39 - Brown, Yellow, Neutral and Color of your choice.

Now the interesting thing about this card is that everything except the brads are scraps! I love it when I can use some of my leftover supplies!

Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge #11

The SSC challenge this week is based on this verse:

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.  ~Deuteronomy 31:8

The challenge is to create something about when God is "unseen"; i.e., a project to encourage a friend and remind them that God is with them…

005-2

Since Cornish Heritage Farms is sponsoring this challenge I thought I would use their Botanical Bliss and Scripture Essentials I on my card. I just love these poppies and this verse is just perfect!

May your day be filled with Blessings!

My Vintage Christmas Girl

Here it is! My TTIC #53 card!

LOL! I know you have all waited breathlessly for me to post my Twilight Tuesday card. So sorry for the wait, I could not find the lace I wanted to use on this.

I decided to be like everyone else and use the Mojo Monday Week 111 Card Sketch. It is a fun sketch to use! Now I did flip mine on it’s side. I know, I am a rebel!

PB040017

This just reminds me so much of when I was little. I had a large window in my bedroom and I would look out waiting for Santa to come!

Don’t you just love this stamp! It is a free digi stamp by Inger Harding. It is perfect for your Christmas cards!

PB040016

I used some of my new Copics and around the windows I used Clear Stardust. The windows look frosty, cold!

The Vintage Poinsettia

I finally finished a card! After a crazy yesterday I was able to work on a few of my cards and this one actually was finished!

PB040022

Do you think it shimmers too much?? I hope so because this card is for two challenges:

1. Our Daily Bread Designs – Show Us The Shimmer Challenge! This card reminds me of Christmas when I was a little girl. My grandmother used to have ornaments with this large, chunky glitter on them. The colors and vintage style also remind me of the homemade Christmas balls she used to make.

PB040021

2. Card Patterns Sketch #39. I saw this sketch and just fell in love with it! After I saw this free poinsettia digi stamp on SCS I knew I had to use it on this card! I printed it up 3 times, colored it with my Copics and layered it. Using my fingernail I also slightly distressed the edges of the flower petals.

Now I am trying to finish up my TTIC card as well as a few others. I need to find something in order to finish them so hopefully that will happen today!

Twilight Tuesday Challenge #53: The Transformation

200x200banner

This week’s TTIC is brought to us by the super cool Alison! Here is what she has to say:

In Breaking Dawn, Bella transforms from human to vampire. In life, we all go through changes…though not as severe as Bella’s! What kind of changes have you physically gone through? Cut off all your hair? Dye it blue (like me?)? Nose job? Pregnancy? Lost a lot of weight?
Project: Create something that narrates a physical change you’ve gone through
Comment: Tell us about your change!

Well as you can see right now I do not have a project. I thought I could get one done in time and it just did not happen! Sorry! When I do it done it will go here. :)

As for the comment portion:

Well up until high school I had waist length straight hair. I would dye it all sorts of dark browns. I tried to go blonde one summer and yikes!! I looked horrible!

Now I have short, just under my chin length hair and it is curly. No I do not perm it. Curly hair runs in my family. My mom and sibling all have some kind of curly hair and I have always had straight hair like my dad. After my last pregnancy I could tell my hair had more of a kink to it. I had been keeping the length past my shoulders so when I decided to cut it…WOW! Large wavy curls. They are so soft and easy to take care of. I love them!!!

That reminds me… I have a hair appointment this morning…

Anyways please make sure you take the time to stop by the Twilight Tuesday Design Team blogs. I am sure they all have done fabulous jobs on their completed projects!

This Past Weekend…

We spent some time with my family out in East Texas.

PA300016

It was a sad weekend because the dog I gave my mom about 10 years ago passed away. We have no idea how old he was, but when I adopted him he had already been with 4 other owners who had abused him.

This weekend we missed hearing the sounds of his tags and tripping over him as would stand in your way. Rest in peace sweet Coco.

Here are some photos from our weekend. We were blessed with some really nice weather. This is a view from the front porch.

PA300039

We saw some of my parent’s neighbors. They are always so friendly.

PA300040

Because of all the rain most of mom’s roses are still blooming. I thought this one was so lovely.

PA300020

This is a nest that we found in one of their arbors. You can see an egg still in it. It was a bit hard to take this picture because of the climbing rose vine. I kept getting pricked by the thorns!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures!
